Brooke Schmaling, MSSW, LCSW
Initial evaluation sessions are 60 minutes in length, and the charge is $150. Regular psychotherapy sessions, whether individual, family, or parents-only, are 45-50 minutes, and the charge is $125. My fee for attendance at school meetings, document preparation, and phone consultations lasting longer than 10 minutes is $125 per hour.
I am an in-network provider for Blue Cross/Blue Shield and United Behavioral Health. If you are using one of these two insurances, I will collect your copay or estimated coinsurance at each session and file claims with your insurance, which will pay the remainder of the fees for sessions to me directly. I am not an in-network provider for any other insurance plans, although many plans offer out-of-network benefits that may reimburse a significant portion of my fee. If you use out-of-network benefits, I will collect the full fee for each session and provide you with regular invoices detailing your payments to me, and your insurance will reimburse you directly. If you are having financial difficulties that prevent you from paying at the time of service, please let me know so that we may discuss your individual situation. Details of your plan’s coverage for my services are usually available by calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card. Usually, insurance plans will reimburse for initial evaluation, individual and family therapy. Each plan is different, though, so please verify your benefits before we begin treatment, so there are no surprises. I accept cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express as forms of payment.
